Baisie Therapy Services works under a collaborative model of practice referred to as the 'Team Around the Child' or TAC for short. Considered one of the most effective and evidenced based models in the Early Intervention Sector, Baisie flourishes with client achievement utilising this family centered, holistic model that allows us to work closely with families and building their capacity to support the child.
Recommended in NDIS Early Intervention plans, Baisie's TAC allocates families a Key Worker whereby a single clinician becomes the main contact for the family, increasing accessibility, simplifying service provision, streamlining communication to all involved whilst achieving individualised, purposeful and functional goals.
Our team is entuned with skills right across the developmental scope by having access to and relying on the broader team of allied health professionals within Baisie and it's external allied health connections - that of the clients clinical team.
Baisie Therapy Services first introduced this model of practice in 2023 and with ongoing success continues this focus with provision of services through it's Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Educators.
Baisie is able to offer services in the clinic, at home, education settings or wherever a child may need support. At present Baisie travels to Manilla, Kootingal, Gunnedah, Quirindi and everywhere in between.
A TAC team is lead by a single key contact known as the Key Worker. The child's family work closely with the Key Worker as relevant other services are linked in as required. Once the team around the child is developed by either professionals within Baisie or external providers, the Key Worker provides therapy to the family, child and educators (or relevant others), constantly linking in with the broader team. While the family, as the experts, are at the center of service provision, the Key Worker ensures priority goals are being met, capacity is being built to support the child across environments and communication pathways are clear.
The Key Worker is a therapist who is a part of your team of allied health professionals such as a Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist or Teacher/Educator. Typically, the allocated Key Worker will be the therapist where the majority of the family's goal lay.
A TAC is most appropriate for children who require access to two (2) or more allied health specialists at once. Typically this means that a TAC is developed with children who have NDIS plans.
